Peacock Memorial Chapel:

A funeral or a memorial services at Peacock Memorial Chapel are conducted with respect and dignity. The comfort of family members and friends attending the service is important to us. Our chapel is on one level which makes access to our facility easy for handicapped individuals and the elderly.

Peacock Memorial Chapel was built in 1949 by Ralph E. Peacock and local craftsmen. The beautiful design and detail of workmanship is evident throughout.

In 2003 an upgrade of the chapel's heating and air-conditioning system was completed with a state of the art system for comfort and quietness. The chapel can easily accommodate 200 people. Our family room provides privacy for family members during services.

Funeral or Memorial Services - Church:

Approximately half of our funeral or memorial services are held at the family's church. All coordination is accomplished by the funeral home staff to insure that the service is personal, dignified and according to family wishes.

Graveside Services:

Graveside services can be held at any time of year with a tent available upon request. All arrangements and coordination with the cemetery will be handled by the funeral home staff.

Casket Selection:

We have a large casket selection room featuring Batesville Casket Co., Steel, Hardwood, Veneers, Stainless Steel, Copper & Bronze caskets. Many feature Life Symbols personalization.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home, Inc. makes no representation or warranties regarding the caskets, outer burial containers or other merchandise sold by the funeral home. The only warranties, express or implied granted in connection with the products sold by this funeral home are the express written warranties, if any, extended by the manufacturers thereof. No other warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are extended by the funeral home.

Burial Vault Selection:

We have a large vault selection featuring Doric Concrete Vault Co., including bronze, copper, stainless steel and ABS lined concrete burial vaults. We also have 2-piece ABS Gasketed Vault and a 2-piece ABS liner that is accepted at most cemeteries.

State or local law do not require that you buy a container to surround the Casket [or urn] in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or burial vault will satisfy these requirements.

Graveside Inurnment Service:

Graveside inurnment services can be held at any time of year. Funeral home staff will coordinate all arrangements with the selected cemetery. Family wishes will be honored to provide a personalized, meaningful service. A tent is available upon request.

Direct Cremation with No Service:

Sometimes a funeral service is not desired, or families may prefer a private service. Other options include a gathering of family and close friends at home, a private inurnment at a cemetery, or an outing with scattering of the ashes. We respectfully honor all family requests.

Urn Selections:

We have a large Urn selection display (see-Urns) featuring Ziegler & Ames, The Davis Whitehall Company and Memory Glass. An urn can be personalized with art work, name, dates or quote. Delivery can be expected in 24 - 48 hours.

Social Security Benefits:

Eligibility

The deceased worker must have credit for work covered by Social Security, ranging from 1 1/2 to 10 years depending on his or her age at death.

Who May Receive Monthly Benefits

A widow or widower age 60 or older (50 if disabled), or at any age if caring for an entitled child who is under 16 or disabled.
A divorced widow or widower age 60 or older (50 if disabled) if the marriage lasted 10 years, or if caring for an entitled child who is under 16 or disabled.
Unmarried children up to 18 (19 if they are attending a primary or secondary school full time).
Children who were disabled before reaching 22, as long as they remained disabled.
Dependent parent or parents 62 or older.

Lump-Sum Death Payment

A one time payment of $255 is paid in addition to the monthly cash benefits described above. The lump-sum death payment (LSDP) is paid in the following priority order:

A surviving spouse who lived in the same household as the deceased person at the time of death.
A surviving spouse eligible for or entitled to benefits for the month of death.
A child or children eligible for or entitled to benefits for the month of death.

Applying For Benefits

You must apply in order to receive benefits. You may apply at any Social Security office or, if you wish, you may apply by telephone. Just dial the toll-free number 1-800-772-1213 and the operator will schedule an appointment for you or arrange for the local Social Security office to take your claim by telephone.

What we do for you

All families that we serve will have the Social Security form Statement of Death by Funeral Director completed and submitted. On-site crematory:

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home responded to the needs of our community and surrounding area by adding a new crematory in August 2004. All cremations are done on site. We are the only funeral home in the lower Arkansas Valley that offers local cremation.

Transferring Pre-Arrangements:

Funeral homes or crematoriums sometimes sell, merge, or go out of business. This can lead to confusion and anxiety for those who made pre-arrangements with the changing funeral homes. We will honor all pre-arrangements made at other funeral homes or crematoriums. Insurance or trusts can be easily transferred and we will honor the price arrangements made. If our prices are less than what was pre-arranged, we will credit back to you the amount you overpaid. You will not have to pay more by transferring your arrangements.
